CAPD dealers threaten to go on strike from today
Non release of carriage commission by the department

Kishtwar, Mar 8: The dealers associated with Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution Department (CAPD) Kishtwar who are supplying ration to the entire population of District Kishtwar threatened to go on strike from tomorrow alleging that despite assurance from the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar during a meeting with the association on 25-2-2016, the department of CAPD Kishtwar fail to release the commission amount into their accounts pending since October 2014 including the full payments for period when government announced free ration in wake of the aftermath of September 2014 floods in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.
While talking to "Early Times" District President dealers association Khurshid Ahmed Malik said that the association has decided to resume indefinite strike over non release of carriage commission/loading and unloading pending since Oct 2014 as a result of which they are facing lot of problem in clearing the rent of stores and also in running their day to day affairs.
President of the association informed that DC Kishtwar and Assistant Director CAPD Kishtwar though promised that their carriage commission will be released within days, added that AD C&PD Kishtwar fail to keep her promise forcing them to resume the strike from tomorrow. He said that they have also written a letter to Governor N N Vohra and urged upon him to look into the issue of non release of commission, beside also demanded enhancement of carriage commission from existing 5 percent. He said that due to introduction of new NFSA Scheme, the commission of the CAPD dealers will also get reduced and slammed the department for charging Rs. 7.28 for each empty jute bags while the market price of the same is Rs. 2 to Rs. 2.50 added that while the value of plastic bags is zero in the market and department is charging from the dealers at par with jute bags which ultimately make them suffer and their families were at the verge of starvation. He said that till the department will not clear the all pending dues by crediting the amount into their bank amounts, they will continue its strike. It is pertinent to mention that AD CAPD Kishtwar in its official communication to Director CAPD Jammu stated that there is a liability of Rs. 63432710 in six circles (Tehsil Supply Officers) of Kishtwar District, added that amount released will only covers the payments of FPS dealers of three months w.e.f September 2015 and urged upon the concern officer to release the funds in favour of District Kishtwar viz Kishtwar (Rs. 4704080), Nagsini (Rs. 3500000), Chatroo (Rs. 7753904), Padder (Rs. 35620)Dachan 1084075, Marwah 10769988 for NFSA implementation.
