Police officers fret over transfers | | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Mar 8: Three senior police officers have expressed unhappiness over their recent transfers from 'significant' to 'insignificant' posts. Two of them were additional SPs (ASPs) in separate districts while one was head of a police wing in Jammu. All the three were transferred prematurely. One of them was now posted as head of a certain policewing in Jammu. He has a good track record and enjoys the reputation of being a competent officer in police circles. As DSP also, he held important positions in police department. The other ASP was too shifted to an 'unimportant' place where he had no much work to do, police sources said. Before his transfer, the third officer was the head of a police wing in Jammu and had a vast area under his jurisdiction. His main job was to do the personal works of his seniors who off and on troubled him. His reluctance to do the work of a senior police officer had become the cause of his transfer, sources said. He was now posted as ASP in a police wing. All the three officers were unhappy with their postings, the sources added, saying it was more like a punishment for them as they had been shifted prematurely. |
