Sham Lal mocks BJP, says it is acting like a beggar before PDP | Terms SRO 462, as a 'forced acquisition' only | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Mar 8: Terming present alliance as a combination of opportunist and power-hungry forces, the Sr Vice President JKPCC and Ex Minister Sham Lal Sharma today described the BJP as power hungry party saying that there is nothing common between the PDP and BJP. He also termed SRO 462, as a 'Forced acquisition, of people's land. Addressing a monthly meeting of Block Congress Committee (BCC) Akhnoor Sham described the present alliance as a combination of opportunist and power-hungry forces, who exploited the sentiments of the people. "The BJP exploited the sentiments of people of Jammu by various slogans of abrogation of Article 370, rights to PoK, West Pakistan refugees, delimitation of constituencies, plots to the border residents, besides promising a Chief Minister from the region," he said. "BJP has no sense of responsibility and Respect towards the needs and sentiments of people of Jammu as there has been no forward movement by them to end this deadlock," Sham said further asking, "BJP to come forward instead of taking a "U turn" and keeping people in dark." Continuing his attack on previous coalition regime, Sham Lal said that there is no supply of sugar for the past around few months while Atta/Rice is being provided at around 10 kgs per family, against the government scale of 35 kg, per family. He further criticized the previous PDP-BJP government for its failure to ensure the availability of ration to the common people, who are already facing great hardships due to drought & sky touching prices of all essential commodities under the present Modi regime in the country. Asserting BJP leaders have backstabbed people of Akhnoor on SRO 462, Sham Lal described it as a 'forced acquisition of land.' "This land acquisition is not at all ethical and is the result of a "game plan" of BJP where not only BJP MLA's, MP's but BJP cabinet ministers are equally responsible in creating a "Do or Die" situation for the people of Akhnoor," he added. He further said that the people to whom the land in question belongs to a poor family and their livelihood mainly depends on the produce of land and affected people are having very meagre portion of land on which their livelihood depends. Kuldeep Raj Verma Ex Vice Chairman OBC, Ram Swaroop, Subash Langer Convener Block Congress Committee, Aman Gupta AYC President, Madan Lal Gupta City President were also present in this party meeting. |
