Early Times Report JAMMU, Mar 8: Jagti Tenement Committee (JTC) today held meeting under the chairmanship of Shadi Lal Pandita here at Jagti. According to press release, Pandita expressed his grave concern over the attitude of Government and concerned authorities for withholding ration supplies to the Kashmiri Pandit migrant community for the month of February, 2016 which put the migrant community to lot of difficulties in celebrating the Maha Shivratri festival on 6-7 March, 2016. "Kashmiri Pandit Migrant community neither fall in APL nor BPL categories, as such enforcing NFSA on this community is grave injustice with the community", he said, adding that the authorities have said that only 5 Kg rice will be supplied to every individual migrant family which will further add to the sufferings of the community as 5 Kg ration is not sufficient to require the domestic needs of an individual during a month. They appealed the Government for ensuring release of ration in favour of the Migrant community on the basis as it is being provided since migration of the community so that the community may not have to suffering this account. Pandita has demanded permanent rehabilitation of the community in Satellite township in Kashmir valley with grant of one time compensation of losses suffered by the community during Past 27 years of migration due to damages to their properties in Kashmir valley. P.L. Thusoo, Hari Krishan Pandita, M.L. Akhoon, Ved Lal Pandita, Vinod Pandita, Pyare Lal Kanth and S.L. Kar were also present during meeting. |
