EJAC castigates JK Bank's anti employee policies | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 7: Employee Joint Action Committee EJAC held a meeting under the chairmanship of President EJAC, Ab Qayoom Wani. The session was attended by all the central and provincial leaders. The session, among the other issues, discussed the policy of providing different loans by J&K Bank to the state employees. While addressing the session, the president said that J&K Bank adapts dual standard in providing loans to the state and non-state subjects. He said that the bank is providing soft loans to the corporate houses on easy interest rates, whereas, it is cumbersome for a state subject to seek different loans from the bank. The state employees are the assured clients of the bank but the bank charges more interest from them than its own employees and this disparity, in the interest, shall not be tolerated. The leaders felt that the bank has caused social and personal problems to the govt. employees by asking the clients to have govt. employees as guarantors and this practice has seriously affected the social relations. By charging heavy interest rates, the bank is sucking the blood of the employees of the state. It is pertinent to mention here that the bank charges 6.5% interest from its own employees on different loans whereas the general employees are charged 14.5% interest on the same loans which is a sheer injustice with the state employees. |
