Jammu, June 3: To supplement the efforts of Tawi Trekkers J&K in tapping hidden talent at the grass root level among boys and girls in Sport Climbing, Takshila Educational Trust, Laxmipuram, Bantalab, here sponsored a week- long coaching camp which concluded today with a competition at the Tenzing Norgay Sport Climbing Wall in the Sprawling Buds School Campus, Chinore, today. A total of about 80 budding climbers of Sprawling Buds School attended the camp and participated in the competition which was conducted by Tawi Trekkers J&K under the direct supervision of its general secretary Shawetica Khajuria, a national judge in the game. The camp was a great success as the participants showed keen interest to learn the techniques and finer points of sport climbing, popularly known as wall climbing. On the basis of their performance in the coaching camp as well as in the competition, Tawi Trekkers J&K has selected eight climbers including four girls for further coaching which shall again be sponsored by Takshila Educational Trust. Whereas, Rudhar Partap Singh, Ritesh Sharma, Randeep Singh and Asma Gul, who topped the 40ft high fibre glass wall were automatically selected. |
