ABVP delegates refused 'space' in Govt owned Circuit House

Early Times Report

Jammu, June 3: The furore over denial of permission to ABVP in educational institutions including Jammu University may gradually abate and wane on the political scene, the student organization is fuming over muteness of the BJP in the whole issue and its 'incapability' to assert despite being in power. ABVP has taken it as affront to the fact that not only educational institutions in Jammu shut their doors for the mega event but the delegates were also refused space in the Guest House and Circuit House run by the state government of which BJP is an ally.
Sources said as the number of delegates was huge, around 400 for attending the national executive convention, the local wing of the student organization had decided to get some rooms for the top brass of ABVP leadership in the Circuit House at Canal Road. However, they were not given permission to use the space in this government owned House by the officials, sources said adding that this has added injury to the insult of the student organization having a strong backing and support of ruling BJP elsewhere in the country.
Sources said following denial of rooms in the Circuit House, the ABVP was left with no option of seeking accommodation in the private hotels of the city, besides Ved Mandir where many delegates were lodged for three day national executive that began from May 29. Sources said ABVP is annoyed over what it looks at dual approach of ministers of BJP who have had long drawn association with the organization about which they claim often with a sense of pride. A senior BJP minister who was former president of ABVP, was the chief guest in the convention, whose muteness and incapacity to assert at least on the front of granting permission for rooms in the Circuit House has annoyed the student organization most, sources further said.
Besides the former ABVP president, none of the ministers not even BJP's top leader's could do anything in the matter, only except expressing displeasure with mention of a few words on the twitter. Amid controversy of denial of permission, he had mentioned that BJP has taken up the matter of JU Vice Chancellor's obstinate behavior against ABVP, but any action eludes as on day, over which ABVP leadership is angry. The student organization is also wondering that despite being part of the government, the BJP remains indecisive and acts as powerless ally as and when situation warrants them to act which amply suggests their writ doesn't run at all in the government.
