PHQ asks IGP to make ground for expulsion of SI who robbed jeweller

Jammu, June 3: Taking the cognizance of report published in Early Times captioned SI, other cop bring disgrace to Khakhi, rob jewller of Rs 4 lakh' in its Friday edition, the police department swung into action and arrested the accused Sub-Inspector (SI), who was shown absconding in police report to court.
Meanwhile PHQ has directed the IGP Railways to make grounds for the expulsion of the accused cop from the organization. DGP K Rajindera when contacted said, "I read the news item in Early Times in the early morning and directed the IGP Jammu Danesh Rana to secure the arrest of the accused Sub Inspector at any cost and accordingly the directions were followed effectively".
Speaking on the deterrent against accused cops, the DGP said that he had also directed the IGP Railways Suleman Salaria to hold the departmental inquiry against the accused Sub Inspector and make legal grounds for his expulsion from police force.
If the informed sources are to be believed, the said SI was earlier constable and it was his wrong doings which forced the department to dismiss him from service, however, it was after some senior police officers' intervention, the said cop was discharged instead of termination from service. The said cop, however, again joined JKP as a Sub Inspector.
The said SI also had two FIRs registerd against him with the Crime Branch Jammu. He was booked u/s 420,467468,471 RPC r/w sec.5 (2) P.C Act by Crime Branch Jammu after he cheated the brother of a Bollywood actor of 90 lakhs of rupees when he was posted as SHO of Vijaypur police station . He had even used his official stamp to finalise a land deal in Seora area here. He had also allegedly used the seal of SHO to win the confidence of the brother of bollywood actor.
The said cop was again booked by the Crime Branch Jammu u/s 420,467,468 RPC against FIR No 11/2016 after he was involved in lifting a car from complainant Thoru Khan's residence illegally.
Pertinently, ET had reported that two cops brining disgrace to khakhi allegedly snatched Rs 4 lakh from a jeweller of Jain Bazar.To achieve their nefarious design, they engaged two other persons.
The accused identified as SI Ajay Singh Bandral, Shokat Ali alias Khan, Khalid alias Kalu, Nizakat alias Mohammad Yousuf and constable Mohammad Zafar. While the accused SI is presently posted with Government Railways Police (GRP), Jammu, cop Mohammad Zafar is under suspension after he was allegedly caught with heroin in Punjab were later booked under sections 420 and 120-B RPC by the Chowk Chabutra Police.
