Jan expresses concern over defunct CT scan 6/3/2016 11:56:23 PM Early times Report POONCH, June 3: Provincial Youth National Conference President Jammu Ajaz Jan on Friday expressed concern over prolonged delay in deputing a specialist for manning CT scan machine in District Hospital Poonch, saying it has been non-functional since 2014. "This is causing enormous problems to patients and reportedly several deaths have taken place due to lack of diagnostic facilities", Jan said while addressing workers at Khari Karmara in Poonch. The health sector, he said, has been in disarray for the past two years with PDP-BJP coalition partners playing politics even in the matters of immense public importance. "At a time when Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is claiming to put in place smart hospital in each constituency of the state, the condition of existing health institutions is fast deteriorating", he said, hoping necessary steps would be taken for strengthening the diagnostic mechanism on immediate basis. Jan expressed solidarity with the families who have lost their dear ones due to lack of facilities in the District Hospital and said that the management cannot shirk its responsibility towards patients.
