HC directs respondents to file reply | Writ against SMVDSB for 'acquiring' prime land at Katra | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 3 : In a petition filed against Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board (SMVDSB) for its alleged act of indulging in reckless acquiring of valuable land at Katra, high court judge Tashi Rabstan today issued notice to respondents and directed them to file reply and objections. It was submitted that the petitioner owned and possessed about 60 kanals of land at Hut in Katra and another piece of 10-15 kanals of shamlaat land in the village. The petitioner has also built his house there. The petitioner has sought quashment of August 11, 2014 notification No COL/LA/ACR/Reasi/14/206-209 issued by respondent No 5 under section 4 of J&K Land Acquisition Act allegedly in an arbitrary exercise of power vested in respondents, and for not being in consonance with the International Civil Aviation Organization-Heliport Manual and quashing notification No 08-Rev. (LAK) of February 5, 2016 (issued under section 6 of J&K Land Acquisition Act)) and the notification restraining respondents from acquiring the land of the petitioner in the garb of the purpose purported in as much as the respondents can't be requiring 286 kanal 13 marlas of land for taking off and landing of one helicopter at a given time and particularly when the respondents already have four new helipads in Katra from where they can operate.(JNF) |
