11 yrs on, PMGSY fails to complete 11 road projects in Bhaderwah 6/6/2016 11:15:30 PM Early Times Report Jammu, June 6: Notwithstanding the tall claims of union as well as state government that rural road connectivity is not only key component of rural development by promoting access to economic and social services but others the executive agency, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY) has not been able to complete 11 road projects of Tehsil Bhaderwah which was sanctioned by 11 years ago. Reliable sources Public Works Department (PWD) informed Early Times that in the year 2005 more than dozen road projects of Bhaderwah has been forwarded by state government to union government for approval. Out of which union government has sanctioned 11 road projects under scheme PMGSY at an estimate cost of Rs 36 crore 49 Lakhs and their length is 80.18 kilometer but astoundingly the agency yet not completed a single project. They further said that though construction work of 2-3 road was awarded a year after of its sanctioned, and has projected their completion date before 2010 but after lapse of six years all road projects are hang in balance. Malothi - Dugli road project having total length five kilometers and their estimate cost is Rs.2.10 crore, Bhalla - Dhalla its length is five kilometer sanctioned at an estimate cost of Rs 2.92 crore, Bhalra- Gurekha road length 10 kilometer sanctioned at an estimate cost of Rs 4.41 crore are still incompletes. Rs. 1.33 crore sanctioned for Chaka - Mathola road and its total length is 4.25 kilometers, 15 kilometer length of road from Nagar Lanchan- Kansar its sanction cost is Rs7.54 crores, Drodhu - Gutasa road project having total length eight kilometers sanctioned at an estimate cost of Rs 3.57 crores, while road Basti- Dugli length 11 kilometers and its sanctioned cost is Rs 4.44 crore. The other three projects include Malothi - Dugali via Gajote (phase-I) their length is five kilometer and estimate cost of Rs. 1.61 crore yet the earth work of these roads is not completed. The others two roads Sarthingal - Katyara and Seri- Chattra both six kilometer length in each was sanctioned in same year but till date the construction work of the roads are still in progress.
