Now, Valley opposes Abhinav yatra | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 6: Not content with their senseless and communally-motivated opposition to the Holy Amarnath annual yatra, the fanatics in Kashmir have now joined hands against the scheduled Abhinav Gupt yatra. Fanatics like Dukhataran-e-Milat, Nayeem Khan and many of their ilk have denounced the Abhinav Gupta yatra as a cultural aggression on Kashmir and even questioned the very existence of Abhinav Gupt cave in the Beerwah area of Kashmir. A Delhi based organization Acharya Abhinav Gupt Sheeshadri Samroh Samiti is organizing a yatra to Abhinav Gupta Cave on June 11, 2016. Dukhataran-e-Milat, a pro-Pak fundamentalist organization has said that the Government of India was misusing religious sentiments to satisfy political motives. "It has been an agenda of RSS to change J&K into a sacred place for Hindu pilgrimages. By proposing yet another yatra to place which has no historical relevance for Hindus, confirms how the RSS is plotting to link Hindu religious sentiments to the land of J&K. The purpose behind all this is whenever any discussion of resolution of Kashmir issue is taken up, they (RSS) will oppose that by claiming Kashmir as most sacred land of Hindus," it has said. Self-styled Jammu Kashmir National Front chairman Nayeem Khan has also said the same and added that the proposed yatra was nothing but a cultural aggression on Kashmir. "The government is implementing the agenda of RSS in J&K and the new move to conduct Abhinav Gupt yatra in Budgam is a cultural and religious aggression on Kashmiris" (read Kashmiri Muslims), he has said, adding that "we won't tolerate it and Kashmiri people will prefer gallows over allowing the yatra to go ahead". Anjuman Mazharul Haq, a religious organization in Kashmir's Budgam district, has also said that it will oppose the proposed yatra to Abhinav Gupta cave. "We are not against any community and have always strengthened the pillars of peace, brotherhood and communal harmony. If the yatra is not cancelled it will have serious consequences on the peaceful atmosphere in the area," Anjuman Mazharul Haqhas said. These fundamentalist and anti-Hindu organizations have been claiming that there existed no such cave as the Abhinav Gupt cave and that the site actually belonged to the Sufi Saint Shah Sahib who meditated throughout his life in the cave. "The grave adjacent to the Shrine is witness to the fact that the site belongs to Muslim community," they have been claiming, despite the fact that a number of chronicles have mentioned that the Abhinav Gupt, along with his about 1000 disciples, entered the cave in the year 968 and they never came out of it. But, still, the fanatics in Kashmir refuse to recognise the historical facts and, instead, take recourse to the fudged revenue records to mislead the people and the judiciary. Acharya Abhinav Gupt Sheeshadri Samroh Samiti has made it clear that the yatra would be undertaken as per schedule and almost 1000 devotees of Abhinav Gupt would enter the Abhinav Gupt cave. It will be interesting to see if the government withstood the communal and anti-Hindu pressure. If it fails, message would go across the nation that things had not improved in the Valley and that Kashmir had virtually become independent of India. But more than that, it would be the BJP, which would further lose its face across the nation if the Abhinav Gupt yatra was not allowed to happen. |
