'GMC admin did not provide ventilator on time' | Injured man succumbs to injuries | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 6: Family members of the victim of hit 'n' run case, who succumbed to his fatal injuries in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu on June 4, accused administration and doctors on duty of the hospital for not providing ventilator on time. Moreover, doctors on duty showed non-seriousness toward the patients. Son of deceased (Rattan Sharma), Parveen Sharma told that keeping in view of serious case, they had carried in front of on duty doctors for putting their patient on ventilator as doctors recommended for three to four hours but no one has listen them and left their patient for died. "Numbers of time, I requested to the doctors to provide ventilator but they were busy in other cases. After feeling so helpless and angry, i created ruckus in the emergency ward against the poor health care in GMC&H Jammu as well as on duty doctors for their failure to provide must need care to patient, "he recalled his tale. He further said that whenever they asked to doctor about ventilator, doctors say as 'Jab tak koi marta nahi ventilator nahi milega' the ventilator will not be provided until any one dies. It was too late when they got ventilator after three hours suffering, and requesting concern authority. He asked if all ventilators were booked, from where they provided ventilator it clearly showed that hospital has more ventilators but those ventilators are only used for VVIP and politicians' patients not for a poor people who visit the hospital with lots of hope and fail to get necessary treatment on time. When contacted Medical Superintendent of Hospital Jammu couldn't be contacted. |
