Desperate to get posted as SP, IPS officer calls on BJP minister 6/6/2016 11:34:36 PM Early Times Report JAMMU, June 6: An IPS officer has become so desperate to get posted as district SP in Jammu region that he called on a BJP minister in the recent past and spent over an hour with him, seeking favours. There are four IPS officers of his batch, but he is the seniormost. The other three are at present posted as heads of different districts. Some of his juniors too have been posted as district SPs. He had been getting good postings till the retirement of his close relative who was a senior officer in the state police. After his relative's retirement, PHQ had not given him any significant posting, police sources said. Sources said a few days back, he went to the BJP minister's residence along with a close acquaintance of the latter and requested him to help him for his posting as a district SP in Jammu region. After an hour-long meeting with him, the minister returned him with the assurance that he would put a word for him for his posting in Kathua district. Sources said the IPS officer was sure that he would be posted as SSP in any Jammu district in the next cabinet meeting.
