Woman BJP leader, who heads committee, is MoS, says Mantri 6/6/2016 11:33:18 PM Early Times Report Srinagar, June 6: A senior BJP minister on Sunday praised and congratulated a woman BJP leader for getting the status of Minister of State (MoS) by being appointed as the chairperson of Union Minority Ministry's Education and Women Welfare Committee (EWWC). While speaking at a function held on the occasion of World Environment Day here the BJP Minister praised the woman leader and said besides getting the MoS status, she would also become the MLC soon. As the Minister was addressing the gathering, a few BJP leaders present there left the venue to save themselves from the embarrassment. "It's unfortunate that the senior Minister is unaware about the fact that the woman BJP leader has been appointed as a chairperson of a committee and not a commission and she has not got any MoS status," a source quoted BJP leaders as having said. Its in place to mention here that people who are nominated as chairpersons of a commissions get the MoS status and the chairpersons of the committee don't enjoy any such status. The BJP leaders, according to the sources, were annoyed after the Minister announced that she would be nominated as MLC. "Minister has no right to make a public announcement about who would be nominated as MLC.
