Bootlegger held with 44 liquor pouches

Udhampur, June 6: Police today claimed to have arrested one bootlegger alongwith the 44 pouches of liquor which were recovered from his possession during a naka checking at Sudhmhadev, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Chenani of Udhampur district.
Police said the accused has been identified as Kaku Ram S/o Rasila of Haridwar Sudhmhadev who was arrested on the spot.
"On reliable information, a police party of Police Post Sudhmhadev led by SI Khyati Maan Khajuria intercepted one suspicious person travelling on foot near Sudhmhadev, Udhampur, police said.
Police said, "During thorough search of that suspicious person, police team recovered 44 pouches of liquor from his possession.
"Police seized the illicit liquor and arrested the accused on the spot," said police.
In this connection, a case u/s 48A Ex. Act stands registered a case and further investigation of the case is on.
