One held with fake currency worth Rs 15000/- | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, June 6: Police today claimed to have arrested one persons alongwith Fake Indian Currency Notes with a fake value worth Rs 15000/- along with gold ornaments during a naka checking in a locality under jurisdiction of Police Station Gujjar Nagar. "The accused has been identified namely as Abdul Hamid s/o Ghulam Mohammad resident of Gool Ramban, police said. "Acting on information that one Abdul Hamid of Gool Ramban is doing the business of fake Indian currency and about his movements alongwith consignment of fake currency in Gujjar Nagar, the police team intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number CH03D-9326," police said. "During the search of the accused and search the vehicle (an Accent) near Gujjar Nager Bridge", said police, further adding, "police team recovered Fake Indian Currency Notes of 15000 (face value) of 500 denominations. "Besides counterfeit Indian currency, the police team also recovered gold jewelry set comprising one necklace and two bangles, one ring and two ear rings, Rs 2400/- (INR), two mobile phones were also recovered from the said vehicle, police said. "All the aforesaid items were seized and a case under FIR No. 59/16 u/s 489-B/489 stands registered in this connection. Police said that further investigation of the arrested is on to ascertain the source from which the arrested procure the fake currency. |
