Cop critically injured in Nowshera Hit 'n' run case | | | Early Times Report
Rajouri, June 6 :In a tragic road mishap a Jonga driver hit a traffic police head constable and fled from the spot leaving behind the vehicle under the jurisdiction of Nowshera police station in Rajouri district today. According to police sources, the condition of the head constable, who was referred to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) Jammu is said to be critical. Madan Lal Sharma, DySP (Traffic) said the traffic police party lead by Khadim Hussaim, Assistant Sub Inspector (ASI) was on duty near Tain Bridge. "Head Constable Ashok Kumar signaled a Jonga bearing registration No: JK21D-0176 on way to Jammu from Rajouri, to halt for checking, but the driver instead of halting the vehicle hit Ashok Kumar who received critical head injuries," Police official added. He said that unidentified driver of Jonga abandoned the vehicle and fled from the spot. Police party from Nowshera police station led by SHO rushed to the spot and after legal formalities seized the vehicle and started man hunt for the absconding driver after registering a case against the guilty driver. |
