| Historic Poonch Fort hit by illegal encroachments | | | Early Times Report
Poonch, June 10: residents of the Poonch city have alleged that some influential have enriched the historic Poonch Palace while the district administration is acting like a mute spectators to save the pristine glory of historic palace.
insaaf Movement Chairman javid Raishi said that district administration has become failure in this regard. "The space of Poonch Palace is being eaten up by the callous approach of the district administration especially the Municipal Corporation Poonch," said a local resident.
Locals said that the construction is in process under hundred meters range of the Poonch Fort, while the sign board of Tourism Department near Poonch Fort restricting 'constructions' too can be seen but who cares when one is influential. Tourism Department employee Mohd jhangir said that the concerned department has filed master plan and zonal plan and the approval is awaited.
Meanwhile Javid Reshi demanded to stop this illegal construction, so that the beauty of Poonch town can be preserved from illegal encroachment.
Another local Rinku Seni also lamented that many influential people under the eyes of administration are breaking laws while administration is juts acting like mute spectator. People of Poonch have demanded from Governor and Chief Minister of State to intervene and pass due direction to save the pristine glory of historic Fort Poonch. |
