Govt succumbing under separatists pressure! | Abhinav Gupt yatra | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 10: The statement of Government spokesperson and PDP Minister that the State Government would not allow the Abhinav Gupt yatra to Beerwah cave in Central Kashmir's Budgam district has revealed that coalition has totally succumbed to the pressure of separatist Hurriyat Conference and anti national elements in the Valley. The statement has evoked a strong resentment among the nationalist people all over the country saying any move to deny permission to yatra to Beerwah cave of Acharya Abhinav Gupt a legendary scholar and great Shaviat of medieval Kashmir would have serious consequences. ``The Government should take its words back and allow yatra to take place as it is not against any religion or region nor its objective is to make cultural invasion in Kashmir, said Kundan Kashmiri, president Kashmiri Pandit Conference (KPC). He said by opposing the yatra the coalition government has made it amply clear that separatists still rule the roost in Kashmir and their writ runs large. The yatra is taken in connection with millennium year of this great Shivacharya of Kashmir who was a great scholar and has no parallel in the world so far. Abhinav Gupt has contributed a lot to Indian aesthetics and culture and scholars all over globe take him in high esteem. His writings are full of philosophy and Giyan and not only in India but this great philosopher has many admirers all over globe, said a Kashmiri. He was above the religion, caste and creed as a proponent of Kashmir Shavism he considered entire universe as one and there was no dualism in this philosophy, he added. Every Kashmiri whether Hindu, Muslim, Sikh or Christian should take proud that such a great and world renowned scholar was from Kashmir and instead of opposing the yatra they should come in large numbers to receive it, he added. Geelani and other Hurriyat leaders lack knowledge as they don't know that there are large number of Kashmiri Muslims who have got degrees in research on Kashmir Shaivism and who have written books and presented papers in different seminars all over country on Kashmir Shaivism and aesthetics, said Rakesh Kaul, a KP leader and social activist. Kaul said Geelani and his henchmen should instead of opposing yatra read history and also seek information about the Muslim scholars of Kashmir who have presented research papers on Kashmir Shaivism and its great scholars like Acarya Abhinav Gupt, Utpal Dev, Kashminder etc. It is not the yatra which poses threat to secularism in Kashmir but the mindset of Geelani and his henchmen which have already made Hindu Mukth Kashmir by forcing the minority Pandits to flee from Valley, he added. Kaul also took serious exception to the reported statement of Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh that Government wont allow anything that has potential to disturb peace while referring to Abhnav Gupt yatra which is to be taken to his Beeru cave. |
