jammu, June 10: Militants operating in Jammu and Kashmir are paid through the hawala routes by their mentors in Pakistan and their emoluments are decided based on their work from stone-pelting to big terror attacks, a report said. Citing an Indian Army report, a new channel reported that the militant commanders are paid between Rs.10,000 to Rs.200,000 depending on their work in the Valley. It also said that those in the lower rung of the hierarchy are paid through hawala channels while those in senior positions are paid through various financial systems. The report comes, as the Valley as witnessed a surge in terror attacks over the past few months. Report further suggested that recently huge money has been pumped in Kashmir Valley through hawala and this fund is being utilized to recruit more and more unemployed youth in terrorism. Earlier it was come to the notice of the intelligence agencies that hawala money was filtered in Kashmir Valley to pay wages to the stone pelters during the regime of Omar Abdullah. Report further revealed that after formation of PDP-BJP government in the J&K, terrorists' mentors in Pakistan have changed their strategy. Instead of encouraging agitational terrorism through stone pelting, they have now decided to revive the gun culture to create more terror. |
