Influential ASPs elevated as SSPs, courtesy BJP minsters | | | Early Times Report Jammu, June 10: Already facing criticism for keeping the premier anti-graft body headless for the quite some time, the credibility of the popular government has come under scanner as three Additional Superintendents of Police were posted as Senior Superintendents of Police. The General Administration Department (GAD) today ordered transfer and postings of seven Senior Superintendents of Police and three Additional Superintendents of Police. The posting of three Additional Superintendents of Police as Senior Superintendents of Vigilance Organization in Jammu has created ripples in the Police department as to how the junior most police officers have been elevated to the top posts. Sources said the three ASPs were considered due to their close proximity with the BJP ministers. Besides, the selection panel for zeroing in on IPS officers for the post of Director Vigilance is also being constituted. In the panel IGP L.T Mohanti and Hemant Kumar Lohia are on forefront, sources claimed. Pertinently, the anti-graft body became headless after Sheikh Owais Ahmad attained superannuation on June 30 last year. The appointment of Director Vigilance has run into controversy many times since last year and various selection panels for the coveted post were constituted and dropped accordingly for various reasons. |
