UDHAMPUR, JUNE 10: The office of the Nodal Officer of Child Abuse Prevention Cell has been made functional and will receive complaints round the clock from any part of the district.
The cell constituted by the Secretary, School Education Department comprises one Coordinator at provincial level and a Nodal Officer in each district.
As per Nodal Officer for Udhampur Sunil Sharma, who is also HOD DIET, the establishment of cell is aimed at to create a friendly atmosphere in the schools for the all round development of students.
He said that the Child Abuse Prevention Cell is constituted to curb the menace of child abuse and to act strictly against the culprits.
"In this regard, a proposal to nominate one Nodal Officer in every zone has also been forwarded where complaints can be lodged 24 x 7", he added.
