Udhampur, June 10 : A meeting of Congress workers today held a meeting at Pancheri Block under the presidentship of Ashok Gupta.
Krishan Chander Bhagat, Ex-MLA and senior Congress leader, Vijay Manhas, Secretary JKPCC, Rasal Singh-Block President, Ashok Bakshi Ex-Secretary PCC, Sarpanchs Raj, Manjit Kumar, Lakshman Dass, Baldev Singh, Sham Lal Dr. Rattan Singh were the prominent who attended the meeting.
While addressing the meeting Ashok Gupta asked the functionaries of the Block Congress Committee Pancheri to go to the people of the grass root level, listen their problems and bring these problems to the notice of senior leaders of the party. He said the people are facing lot of hardships due to prolong scheduled and unscheduled power cuts, acute shortage of drinking water in Pancheri besides shortage of rations at Government depots and the general public especially the poor are facing great hardships.
He said that Congress party will continue to highlight the problems of people through all means including protest demonstrations etc. He also stressed for enforcing discipline in the party.
Criticizing BJP and its leaders for their total surrender and lack of strength over the issues of people of Jammu region, he said the leaders of BJP have failed to represent the people who gave them heavy mandate to safeguard their interest. |
