Early Times Report Kathua, June 10: The sleuths of Excise Department today conducted raids in Kathua of Jammu division and arrested one women bootlegger and also destroyed 2850 ltrs of Lahan (illicit liquor) besides 116 bottles and 60 pouches of liquor which were destroyed on the spot. According to official spokesperson, the sleuths from Excise Department Jammu while tightening its noose on violators of the various provisions of the J&K Excise Act in entire Jammu division today conducted raids in Kathua division. "The Excise officials from Kathua under the command of ETO Excsie Range Kathua, Sandeep Gupta and ETO Eradication & Enforcement Wing Jammu Sharma raided the Keengdayal, Sitdayal, Dadoli, Jakhbardambra, Maichak, Chartyala, Ladwal, parsochak, Kundechak, Dhabwal and Saktachak areas of Kathua district to arrest the menace of illicit distillation of liquor. In the process over 2850 litrs of Lahan, besides 116 bottles and 60 pouches of illicit liquor seized during raids was destroyed on spot, official said adding, "further, one person namely Smt Seema wife of Amir Chand of Parsochak was arrested" Official added that a case under section 48 of the J&K Excise Act, 1958 stands registered against the accused. He also added that one working unit was also destroyed by the raiding team. |
