Jammu, June 10: A delegation of Association of Industries (AOI), Gangyal led by Rajesh Jain, the president of the Association met with Chief Minister over new Industrial Policy-2016 in presence ofMinister for Industries and Commerce, Chander Prakash. According to press release, during the meeting, Shailender Kumar and Navin Choudhary the Commissioner/Secretary of Industries and Commerce Department and Finance Department of were also present. The delegation apprised Chief Minister for revising the newly formulated 'Industrial Policy' and the shortcomings to be removed to make the policy investment friendly. The points were highlighted; upgrade the power infrastructure, the time period for project implementation be enhanced from 2 years and six months to 5 years, the definition of effective steps to be relaxed, lease period be enhanced from 40, 40 and 10 years to 90 years with no stipulation, the rates of land for Micro and Small industrial sector to be reduced. The delegation apprised to CM that the list of identified items for procurement through SICOP be enlarged and ensure that all the purchasing departments must purchase items from local manufactured goods directly or through SICOP with purchase / price preference and not allowing them to flout the intention of government to support local industry. CM, Mehbooba Mufti assured the delegation for her kind consideration on all the issues raised before her. |
