SRINAGAR, June 10: Internationally acclaimed Pakistani theatre director Madeeha Gouhar today called on the Advisor to the Chief Minister, Professor, Amitabh Mattoo. Madeeha Gouhar has been in Valley for the last one week. According to press release, Madeeha who heads the Ajoka Theatre group discussed in detail the theatre scene in the valley and said that the Kashmiri Local Theatre groups to rejuvenate the theature as it promotes peace, mutual brotherhood and the concept of oneness. She further added that her theatre group need has been actively promoting the coming together of the two neighboring countries as they share common bonding of culture and history. Madeeha, while referring to earlier collaboration with the Advisor during his tenure as the Vice Chancellor, University of Jammu, said that there should be revival of earlier initiatives related to Art and culture. Prof Mattoo, while interacting with Madeeha said that Culture is the connecting thread between various communities and we should collectively work for its propagation, which in turn leads to mitigating misgivings and hatred between various communities and countries. He further assured that new avenues of co-operation in the field of theater and Art would be worked out. He hoped that coming together of artists would lead to checking the hatred and mistrust among the countries. |
