Jammu, June 10: Jammu Kashmir Medical Employees Federation (JKMEF) on Friday hailed the statement given by Minister of State for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat on the floor of House to enhance the age of doctors in view of shortage of doctors in the State. According to press release, the statement hailed the statement in the meeting, organized under the leadership of its President Sushil Sudan along with Vinod Kumar Sharma, Secy General and Jarnail Choudhary and other office bearers. While welcoming the decision of Union Health Minister for enhancing the age of doctors in Central government departments, the Federation would like to remind the authorities that there are about 2500 unemployed doctors in J&K State besides 2000 doctors get passed out every year from different Medical Colleges which results the increase of unemployed doctors. Further the system of re-employing retired doctors in National Health Mission and other schemes including Tuberculosis/Epidemiology adds further miseries to the unemployed doctors. This practice needs to be stopped forthwith so that unemployed doctors are absorbed in such schemes to avoid crisis. |
