Equitable development not possible without delimitation of Assembly: MPEJ
6/10/2016 11:09:30 PM
Early Times Report

Jammu, June 10: The members of Movement for Peace, Equality & Justice, while reacting to the statements of Chief Minister and Dy. Chief Minister on their public meetings regarding equitable development to all regions on road connectivity, tourism, Horticulture, Sericulture, Floriculture and Agriculture etc is totally baseless. Equitable development is not possible without delimitation of Assembly & Parliamentary Constituencies.
They further said that the politicians have simply exploited the sentiments of people in the garb of article 370 to enhance their political interests. Why no de-limitation of Assembly and Lok Sabha seats in the light of article 370,which allows them to do so ? Why no rights to refugees of 1947, 1965 & 1971? Why no implementation of constitutional amendment no 73 & 74 to empower the Panchyati Raj Institutions? Why six years term for Assembly in the State contrary to other states in the country? Is it not the misuse of article 370, they questioned.
They also reminded the drama enacted by NC and Congress on the floor of Assembly last year in April, 2015 also over so-called discrimination with Kashmir over the allocation of funds for repair of transformers. It is amazingly strange on the part of these Parties who ruled the state during last 60 years and perpetrated uncounted instances of excesses and discriminations with Jammu region, did not feel ashamed of talking hoarse over the small instance of funds allotted for purchase of transfers.
Why do they close eyes over the fact that it is the Jammu region from which maximum revenue is collected and goes to the coffers of state government.
It is the time for BJP & PDP to look into this and leave no stone unturned in removing all these regional imbalances.
