JAMMU, June 10: The STC (Sports Training Centre) Terriers outplayed their opponents in BSF (Border Security Force) Red Demons in all departments to claim the Jammu Open Basketball Championship, which was organised under the banner of Jammu and Kashmir Basketball Association (JKBA) at MA Stadium, here. The final, which was decided late yesterday evening was won by STC Terriers by a convincingly margin of 46-15. The winners dominated the proceedings since the very beginning and did not give any opportunity to the opponents. Inderjeet Singh, Ritik Khullar and Sahil were brilliant in defence and controlled the defensive rebounds effectively. The trio also grabbed almost all offensive and rebounds and converted them with fair accuracy. They controlled the pace of the game to their advantage and played clinical offense. For the losers, Nirbhay Jamwal tried to put up a lone battle, but was not allowed to penetrate. The match was officiated by the technical penal comprising Harpreet Singh, Sumeet Dogra and Rajesh Bhagat. In the final, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Jammu, Simarandeep Singh was chief guest, who witnessed the game and gave away the prizes to. He appreciated the organizers for hosting such an event under flood lights. Among those present were vice president of the JKBA, Ranjit Kalra and joint secretary, Teja Singh. |
