Siddiqui rues non availability of sugar at fair price shops | | | Early Times Report KISHTWAR, June 12: A social and political activist of District Kishtwar Shakir Siddiqui has strongly criticized the Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution (CAPD) District Kishtwar for not making availability of sugar in the fair price shops of the District during holy month of Ramzan as a result of which the public have been forced to purchase sugar from the open market on higher rates which everyone can not afford. Siddiqui stressed upon the government to ensure supply of sugar in all the fair price shops so that the public may not suffer for want of sugar. He has strongly opposed the implementation of Food Security Act in the state as it is against the people of the state as under this act the people are not given food grains as per the previous scale. He has demanded immediate rolling back of the Food Security Act and demanded food grains to be disbursed as per the previous scheme. Siddiqui has urged upon the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar to depute their officials in order to check rates on essential commodities and those found charging higher rates should be brought to book. He also stressed upon the Executive Officer MC Kishtwar and Chief Executive Officer Kishtwar Development Authority to restore the out of order street lights so that the walkers going for prayers during night hours may not suffer. |
