JAMMU, June 12: With the agencies recovering an Aadhaar Card from a Pak national who was apprehended by BSF from the border Arnia area here on May 20 last, he has become the second Pakistani, after JeM terrorist Abdul Rehman, who has managed to get it, faking his identity. Rehman, who was captured by forces on a tip-off from Hajibal in Baramulla, Kashmir, on May 15 last, had got Aadhaar Card prepared for himself in the fake name of Shabir Ahmad Khan, son of Ghulam Rasool Khan. The agencies were, however, in the process of finding out if the card was forged or he had actually managed to get it. The one, who was arrested from Arnia, was identified as Zahid Farooq, son of Mohammad Anwar of Chachwari Sahiwal, Pakistan. The Aadhaar Card, which he possessed, was got made by him from Amritsar, Punjab, in the fake name of Rajinder Singh. At the time of his arrest, he was heading towards the International Border to exfiltrate to Pakistan. During his interrogation, he revealed that he and his accomplice were captured by forces in 2006 from Khour, Akhnoor, after they infiltrated into the Indian territory. He was then jailed for two years. After his release in 2008, he was shifted to Khour police station for his repatriation to Pakistan. However, finding an opportunity, he fled from there and remained untraced till his arrest last month. After fleeing from the Khour police custody, he straightway went to Mumbai and then to Assam. He later shifted to Delhi and finally to Amritsar where he took a room on rent and did the job of selling bananas. Later, he became a rickshaw puller and operated mainly in Wagah Border area. Police sources said during his stay at Amritsar for five years, he met several Pakistanis at Wagah, but the agencies never got suspicious of him. He had plans to also get a passport made. He had also made certain important disclosures to his interrogators, sources said. The agencies in Punjab were also keeping an eye on the owner of the house where he stayed as a tenant. Sources also do not rule out the possibility of his being an ISI agent who must have been tasked to recce Indian areas. His sustained interrogation was in progess. |
