Police, revenue officers helping land grabbers

Surankote, June 12: Police and revenue officers are alleged helping some persons who want to grab a piece of land at Banya here.
A family possesses over three kanals of land close to a shrine and a graveyard at Banya. The land falls under khasra Nos 893 and 895. A shrine is located on the land that falls under khasra No 895.
Even as the land owner had also got a stay from the court, the alleged land grabbers continued to intervene and make efforts to forcibly occupy the land.
Talking to Early Times, the land owner said he had several times approached police as well as revenue officials to take the cognizance of the matter but they had done nothing.
Senior police and revenue officers have assured action against those who were found helping the alleged land grabbers.
