PHE issues water connection to disputed property 6/12/2016 11:48:15 PM Arun Singh Early Times Report Jammu, June 12: The non seriousness on the part of Public Health Engineer (PHE) Division Samba can be gauged from the fact that it has allegedly issued a domestic water supply connection to a person on a land which was under dispute and matter was sub judice. Sources told Early Times that PHE Samba division allotted a water connection in the name of one Varinder Singh son of Jagdish Singh resident of Raya of tehsil Vijaypur on a property which is sub judice. "Varinder Singh managed to obtain PHE domestic water supply connection number 1140 dated 28/5/2016 on a land under Kharsa No. 1536 Raya Bagla which is in the name of one Ran Singh and has been stayed by High Court due to dispute on the land," they informed. They further informed that in order to obtain connection Varinder Singh produced Khasra Gordawari No. 1536 of Ran Singh and affidavit in which he claimed to be the owner of said land mentioning that he has constructed a house on land a connection be issued but surprisingly department without verifying the documents produced by the applicant issued connection. Moreover there was no house constructed on the said land. When a complaint was lodged with Executive Engineer PHE Division Samba by one Parshotam Singh son of Ran Singh on the issue on 7/6/2016 who also submitted a copy of court stay order, the Xen forwarded the complaint to AEE for immediate report on the issue but nothing has been done till date. "Even Junior Engineer of the concerned area was informed about the dispute and court stay order over land by the complainants and asked him not to allow the Varinder Singh to install water supply connection in said land yet the JE ignored the complaints and without verifying the facts on his end and allowed the illegal act to be happened. Later the matter was brought into the notice of Sub Divisional Magistrate Vijaypur by the complainants and after minutely scrutinizing the documents in possession with complainants, SDM Vijaypur asked the concerned Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) Vijaypur to take appropriate action but nothing has been done till date. When contacted, Executive Engineer PHE Division Samba Sarwan Singh said that the document of land along with application submitted by the applicant was on his father's name and if there was any dispute on the land, the complainant should submit court stay order on the land with the office and we will disconnect the connection.   Share This News with Your Friends on Social Network     Comment on this Story
