Early Times Report Jammu, June 12: The statement of the minor girl, who was allegedly exploited sexually in police custody by a SHO was recorded before the CJM, who would now produce it before the high court in a sealed cover by or before July 11 next. A criminal Miscellaneous Petition for recording the statement of prosecutrix before the competent judicial magistrate or before the same magistrate who had recorded the statement of her mother or any other competent court which the high court may deem fit and proper in the facts and circumstances of the case was filed by the victim through her counsels. A petition under section 561A of CrPC has also been filed by the SHO of police station, Bagh-e-Bahu, against the process initiated by the municipal magistrate, Jammu, for commission of offence under section 354-A of RPC. "The prosecutrix was a student of 9th class when on May 1, 2016, the accused committed raped her," alleges the petition, adding that when she approached the higher police officers for taking action against the accused SHO, they just ignored her pleas. Instead of taking action against the accused, the officers started oppressing her, she alleged. "The irony is that the person, who is the accused, was directed by a senior officer to arrange her presence in his office, which the accused has himself placed on record in the main petition," she alleged. |
