Sri Sri's meeting with Mirwaiz not in nation's interest: Hari Om | | | Early Times Report JAMMU, June 12: Terming as very unfortunate Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's Saturday visit to the residence of seditionist and Pakistan agent Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, convener of Jammu for India (JFI) Prof Hari Om on Sunday said his visit to the separatist's residence has not only enhanced the prestige of APHC chief, but also harmed the national interest, lowered the moral of the Army and dumbfounded the non-Muslim minorities in the state. "Sri Sri is a spiritual leader. He didn't do well by visiting the residence of Mirwaiz, who, like Geelani, Malik and the ilk, represents the view of the anti-India microscopic minority in the Valley. His visit to the Mirwaiz's residence has only enhanced the latter's prestige and sent a wrong message to the already bleeding nation," said Prof Hari Om, adding that Mirwaiz is not just a rabble rouser but also a disturber of peace in the Valley. "Indeed, Sri Sri disappointed the very vast nationalist constituency in the state by not terming Mirwaiz as a seditionist and by discussing the political situation with a man who has converted the downtown into a den of anti-India, pro-Pakistan and anti-minority activities. What has shocked the nationalists in the state and rest of the country all the more was what Mirwaiz said against India, our dedicated soldiers and the internally displaced Kashmiri Hindus. Sri Sri should have taken on Mirwaiz when he during his meeting with him launched a blistering attack on India and the Indian Army and when he denounced the government policies as anti-freedom movement and anti-separatists," said Prof Hari Om. The JFI convener added that the statement of Sri Sri that Art of Living and its affiliates didn't have on its agenda any yatra on June 11 to the Abhinav Gupt cave in the Beerwah area of Budgam district of Kashmir province has created doubts in the minds of the nationalists across the country about the very credentials of the Art of Living and its affiliates, which had shouted from rooftops that Abhinav Gupt Yatra will take place as per schedule. There is no doubt that Sri Sri took a complete U-turn only to fulfill the communal and separatist urges of Mirwaiz and others of his ilk and all those who had from day one opposed the proposed Abhinav Gupt yatra on June 11 saying there existed no Abhinav Gupt cave anywhere in Kashmir, said Prof Hari Om, adding that by not taking the proposed yatra to a logical conclusion, the Art of Living virtually recognized Kashmiri separatists as the chief determinants and offended the religious and nationalistic people across the country. It's only natural that the nationalists have used the social networking sites to tear into the Art of Living and questioning its very credentials, said Prof Hari Om. Prof Hari Om expressed the hope that Sri Sri would in future refrain from meeting seditionists in Kashmir and fight for the religious and political rights of the country's majority community as well as for the unity and integrity of the country. |
