Massive protest demonstration by Cross LoC Traders | | | Early Times Report POONCH, June 12: Demanding an impartial inquiry into the alleged irregularities in Cross LoC trade, the traders of Cross LoC business held a massive protest demonstration at Poonch on Sunday. Protestor on the occasion said that the trading between the two sides of Line of Control was fair through 2008 till 2014 adding that still 21 items are being allowed for trading despite repeated assurances that more items will be added. They also said that in the SOP it is written that meeting of Indo-Pak traders will held at LoC, where traders could share their problems, but it is not implemented yet. They also said that the number of trucks carrying goods is yet to be increased from the present 25 whereas DDC Poonch has already sanctioned to increase the same up to 30. General Secretary of the Union, Krishen Singh Awal on the occasion said that the elections of the union has not held, which should be conducted just after the month of Holy Ramzaan. They also alleged that some traders have sent a list of selected traders to Pakistan traders via Whatsapp while the rest of the traders have been ignored. They said there are 301 registered traders who demands justice from the government. |
