Early Times Report JAMMU, June 12: Police are alleged to be dragging feet in booking the cops who assaulted a man outside DC office here a few days back. K C Raina, an RTI activist, had an appointment with the additional DC a few days back. However, when he reached there, the cops posted there for the security of DC office complex did not allow him to meet the ADC and allegedly beat him up 'without any provocation'. They also allegedly hit him in the chest. When he became unconscious, the accused cops took him inside and offered him water. By the time they allowed him to meet the ADC, the latter had already left. He then returned home. As he felt uneasiness, he consulted a doctor who got his ECG done and also prescribed him medicines. Though he approached the SHO with a complaint against the accused cops, he did not take any action against them. He now plans to move court to seek a direction to police to register an FIR against the accused cops. |
