Kashmiri Pandits pay obeisance at Kheer Bhawani temple 6/13/2016 12:06:18 AM Early Times Report Jammu, June 12:Kheer Bhawani Mela 2016 celebrated with great devotion at Kheer Bhawani Peeth Jammu under the management of Ardh Ratri Maha Reghneya Sewa trust (Regd.) here today. According to press release, despite inclement weather, devotees in thousands today thronged the "Kheer Bhawanl Peeth"at Bhawani Nagar, Janipura, Jammu to participate in the celebrations of "Zaisht Ashtami" with great devotion."Zaisht Ashtami" being the most auspicious festival of Kashmiri Pandits, the community members who are mostly staying now at Jammu and those who feel unsafe to go to the Valley due to disturbed conditions there, celebrated the festival at Jammu Peeth in the same manner as they used to do at Tullamulla, Kashmir by offering prayers and Pooja to the Divine Mother at the Sacred Kund. The Samohik Arti was performed at 7.20 PM wherein more than 25,000 devotees participated. The roofs of the houses adjacent to the Shrine were covered by the devotees who assembled there to participate in ,the Samochile Prayers, as complete space' inside the pretnises of the Peeth was jam-packed at the time of Arti. On this occasion, Pradhan of the Sanstha apprised devotees of the Divine Mother about the development works which were completed during the previous year and about those which are likely to be taken up in near future.
