Jammu, June 19: The closure of fourth bridge on the river Tawi for repairing has led to massive traffic jams in this winter capital of the state. "Due to immediate repairs and construction of protection bund, the fourth Tawi bridge has been closed for vehicular traffic," an official here today said. He said the traffic, which was otherwise moving via closed bridge from Canal Road and adjoining areas has been diverted to old bridge via Jewel Chowk resulting into long hours traffic jam in the city. "The bridge has been closed for repair work by Jammu Kashmir Projects Constructing Corporation and once the work is complete, the bridge will be thrown open to traffic," said an official. |
