Early Times Report Srinagar, Aug 1: A Border Security Force (BSF) officer on Amarnath yatra security duty died due to cardiac arrest on traditional pilgrimage route, a yatra official said here today. He said Assistant Sub Inspector of BSF Diwa Chan, resident of Uttar Pradesh (UP) suffered a massive cardiac arrest at Chandanwari, the last motorable halting station on Pahalgam traditional track. However, he was immediately rushed to nearby medical camp where he was declared dead. With this a total of 21 persons-- 16 yatris, two sevadars, a CRPF jawan, BSF ASI and a local driver-have died since the commencement of the annual 48-day-long pilgrimage from July 2 from both traditional Pahalgam and shortest Baltal routes. |
