Early Times Report

Jammu, Aug 1: Apart from some SHOs and police heads, munshis’ posted in different police stations are too alleged to have overstayed their transfer period.
Sources alleged that the munshis’ had managed their overstays in police stations with the blessings of senior police officers. "Whenever they are transferred, they get their transfer orders modified with the help of senior police officers," sources alleged. Some of the munshis’ were serving in police stations for the past five to six years, sources claimed, saying some had got their transfer orders modified after serving at their new places of posting for a few months.
Sources alleged that the blue-eyed munshis, who had long stays at police station and police posts, had developed a nexus with local anti-social elements.
Sources claimed that there was a dearth of trained munshis’ in the district and training was being organised for new munshies to overcome the problem of overstay.
