Alleged leakage of civil sectt's internet password | Several got access to internet services while these were down in Kashmir | | Early Times Report JAMMU, Aug 1: Due to the alleged leakage of internet password of civil secretariat in Srinagar during the days of unrest across the valley, several people of the adjoining localities got access to the internet services while these were down in Kashmir. Official sources alleged that while internet services were down in the valley due to the unrest after HM terrorist Burhan Wani's killing by security forces, someone leaked the password of civil secretariate's internet to some people of the neighbouring Shaheedganj and Batmaloo localities. Apart from the locals, the internet facility was also used by the youth who used to come there from other Srinagar localities, sources alleged. Everything moved smoothly till police came to know about the alleged matter. Sources said after police took up the matter with a senior officer of the civil secretariat, he forthwith summoned the concerned staff. Soon thereafter, the password was changed by the officials, sources claimed. A secret inquiry was alleged to have been initiated by the authorities concerned to know about the employees who had 'leaked' the password. A legal action was likely to be initiated against them. It was suspected that the miscreants had also used the internet facility to post 'objectional' messages on WhatsApp and other social networking sites. |
