Marketing checking conducted, erring hoteliers, traders booked | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 9: Ahead of Eid-ul-Zuha to enforce rates fixed by the government for various commodities including mutton and chicken shops, the special checking squads of Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Public distribution (CA&PD) Department have booked 392 traders for violation of various norms and rules. Official spokesperson said, "Assistant Directors along-with Area Inspectors/TSOs/ police/ revenue authorities in each district inspected several business establishments i.e. shops, and hotels, sweet shops, meat and chicken shops and imposed fine of Rs 61550/- from erring traders for violating various provisions of essential commodities act, non-displaying of rate list, over charging, use of domestic cylinder for commercial purposes, etc. Special emphasis was laid upon to check the mutton and chicken shops and Rs 15000/- fine was imposed on traders for committing various violations including maintenance of hygiene and cleanliness. The owners of all commercial establishments have been warned not to violate the provisions of Essential Commodities Act. |
