8 years on, school teacher posted in Sunderbani works in Jammu ZEO spills beans, exposes favoritism in attachments 9/9/2016 11:52:56 PM AB Sharma Early Times Report rajouri, Sept 9: Even as Education Minister, Naeem Akhter claims to have banned the attachments in the education department, Tehsil Sunderbani here reveals a story of favoritism, which belies the government claims. The Zonal Education Officer (ZEO), Sunderbani, Bimla Devi has spilled the beans on how some of the favorites of the government continue to enjoy favorable attachment in the Jammu city and elsewhere, whereas they are supposed to be working at schools in remote areas of this frontier district. Early Times had approached the ZEO to know her version over one case of attachment in her zone whereby an RET enjoys attachment in brazen violation of norms, but the official ended up exposing the rot. She said Badshah Hussain, a teacher posted at Govt Middle School Thumba continues to work at AGs office Jammu for the last eight years. "Earlier he was posted at Govt Middle School Upper Hathlal but as he declined to join his duties, six months ago I transferred him to Thumba, but he didn't join the place of posting as he enjoys influence. You better ask the Director and the Commissioner Secretary as to why they remain silent over this," Devi told Early Times adding "why had one case of attachment as done by me instigated media?" She said the attachments continue to be the rule of the day as the beneficiaries enjoy influence of the higher ups. Officials said scores of teachers posted in villages work elsewhere only because the attachments continue to be in place. Last year the government had banned attachments revoking all such orders across the state. Meanwhile in Sunderbani here, in brazen violation of norms which prevent attachment or transfer of ReTs, Vandana Devi wife of Ramesh Kumar actually posted at Govt Middle school Thumbha is attached at Govt Primary School Thandda.
