Early Times Report
Kishtwar, Sept 9: While separatist leaders are posing to be leading the ongoing protests in the valley, in which the children of the poor people are being used as shields, the fact of the matter is that some senior members of Executive Council of Hurriyat(M) have not taken active part in the protests during the 63 days of unrest in Kashmir. The voice is now being raised that Huriyat should stop making the poor children a cannon fodder by provoking them to attack army and security forces camps, besides vandalizing government property.
As per the reports available with ET, Bilal Gani Lone, who is the senior leader and member of Executive Council of Hurriyat (M) is sitting at his Sanat Nagar residence in uptown here and is not taking part in the protests.
"Bilal Gani Lone did not visit his native district Handwara to take part in the protests nor did he attend any protest in Srinagar city" Early Times investigation into Kashmir unrest reveals. Separatist Bilal Gani Lone is the elder son of Late Abdul Gani Lone and the chairman of "People's Conference" which is one of the constituent of Hurriyat(M). He is also the elder brother of Sajad Gani Lone who is Cabinet Minister in J&K State.
Another senior leader of Huriyat (M) Javid Ahmad Mir is presently in New Delhi for his treatment. Javid Ahmad Mir is the head of JKLF (Javid Group) and is associated with Huriyat (M) from some years. Javid Ahmad Mir also preferred to remain away from the present unrest and he has not been seen in any protest in the valley in last 63 days.
Common people in Kashmir have started questioning the policies of Centre and state government towards the Huriyat Leaders. They rue that it is because of such policies of the Government that common people are facing unrest from time to time'. Centre and State allowed mushrooming of different parties throughout the valley which work as Huriyat constituents. The funding and expenses of these parties were never audited by the government. The working of these parties was never analyzed and checked in the national interest. Despite that, most of the Huriyat Leaders were provided huge security to carry out anti-national activities.
Some top businessmen of Kashmir valley whose credentials are doubtful are also been provided government security. Most of these businessmen are closely associated with Huriyat and are involved in Hawala-Money. These businessmen have grown geometrically during last 10 to 20 years. Common people of Kashmir are now waiting for decisive action against these separatists who have held the life in the valley hostage time and again.
