Jammu, Sept 9: After facing stressful two months in controlling a turbulent situation in Kashmir, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti looked relaxed and undisturbed today, thanks to young college girl students of Jammu who made her smile and enjoy with them some stress free moments. In fact it is a peaceful Jammu again which gave Mehbooba Mufti some reasons to smile and spend some time amid positive atmosphere and a for a positive cause.
Even as the functions were official, yet the occasion was seen amid an aura of optimism for a constructive and progressive cause- distribution of scooties to the college girl students under the ambitious 'CM's Scooty scheme' announced by the PDP-BJP government in May this year. What lent positivity to the atmosphere to the functions organized in two colleges for women in Jammu was not just the enthusiasm and excitement among the girl students for getting scooties under the scheme, but the involvement and commitment of the Chief Minister for betterment of the girls in the state who she asserted need to become strong, firm and independent at least in terms of their mobility, which these scooties would ensure.
While Chief Minister looked keen and eager to distribute the scooties in both the functions, her gestures and body language appeared whole hearted. It was in fact a different aspect of her personality, who normally seen in serious and subdued due to stress she has been facing for some time, when she was all smiles and chose to take a scooty ride herself. She took all by surprise when she undertook this ride around the ground, giving some tough moments to her security staff. This offered some precious moments for the media and camera persons to capture her mood and different style, becoming one among the celebrations of the girl students and sharing their joy. While all girl students enjoyed her presence, it was her spirit and encouraging words that inspired them in many ways. Pertinently, this scheme offers 50% subsidy to the students aspiring to have scooty and the idea of the scheme is to make them independent in mobility. Today at least 300 scooties were distributed to the students of two colleges, 150 in each college after scrutinizing the documents of eligible ones in the first phase. |
