Jammu, Sept 9: Created with much fanfare by the previous government, around two dozen Block Development Offices (BDOs) in Jammu division are running on adhoc basis, especially in rural areas.
According to sources, Kathua, Rajouri, Reasi and Kishtwar districts are the worse victims of adhoc syndrome where a single BDO is holding additional charge of two more blocks.
"In Samba district, BDO Rajpura Ram Dyal is holding additional charge of BDO Nud, while in Kathua BDO Keriangandyal (Lakhanpur) is holding additional charge of BDO Bani and Bhoond blocks; BDO Duggain Nazir Sheikh is holding additional charge of BDO Baggan", sources said, adding that the additional charges were given to BDOs without keeping distance of their actual posting and additional charge in mind. "For an instance, it took atleast a day for BDO Keriangandyal to reach Bani. When a person is holding charge of three blocks, who can he do justice with his job", they added.
"In Rajouri district, BDO Budhal, Shafiq Mir is holding additional charge of BDO Kotranka and BDO Khawas. BDO Qila Darhal, Kulbhushan Sharma is holding additional charge of BDO Nowshera. BDO Sunderbani Sahil Jandyal is holding additional charge of BDO Siot. BDO Darhal, Mohd Saqeeb is also holding additional charge of BDO Planger", sources added.
They further said that in Poonch district BDO Mandi Yar Ali Khan is holding additional charge of BDO Sathra.
"In Udhampur district, BDO Mongri Suman Kumar is holding additional charge of BDO Panchari; BDO Juganoo Sandeep Saniotra is holding additional charge of BDO Khoon; BDO Kulwanta, Ashok Bhat is holding additional charge of BDO Chanunta; BDO Lathi Romesh Atri is holding additional charge of BDO Sewa", they said, adding that in district Reasi BDO Arnas Rajesh Padha holding charge of two blocks, Thuroo and Chassana block.
"In Kishtwar district, BDO Dachhan, Bawa Ditta is holding additional charge of two blocks, Warwan and Palmar blocks. BDO Drabshalla, Dr Nasir Ahmed Bhat is holding additional charge of Bunjwah block", they said and added that in Ramban district, BDO Ramsoo, Jahagir Ahmed, is holding additional charge of BDO Khari.
"In Doda district, BDO Marmat, Yasir Wani is holding additional charge of BDO Khallani, BDO Gundana, Zakir Hussain is holding additional charge of BDO Chiralla, and BDO Chilli Pingal Mohd Idrees Lone is holding additional charge of BDO Jakyas", they added. |
