SKUAST directed not to fill APPMO's post | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Sept 9: High court judge Janak Raj Kotwal has directed Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agricultural Sciences and Technology (SKUAST), Jammu, not to fill up the post of Assistant Project Planning and Monitoring Officer (APPMO). The court also directed SKUAST to maintain status quo in the matter. The court directive came in a petition filed by incharge APPMO Ajay Kumar, son of Gopal Dass. The petitioner's counsel submitted that he had challenged the arbitrary action of respondents whereby SKUAST had initiated the process to divest him of the charge of APPMO, thereby demoting him. It was also claimed that the university was contemplating to grant promotion to certain officials of the grade of head assistants and senior stenographers over and above the petitioner who was in the selection grade of statistical officer and holding the charge of APPMO for the last about eight years. As a consequence of the arbitrary action, the petitioner would get humiliated and disgraced as the officials, who were below in grade than him, would become senior to him. Justice Kotwal, after hearing the counsel, observed that prima facie a case for indulgence was made out. The court notice was accepted by the AAG. The court directed that the post of APPMO would not be filled up subject to objections and till next date before the bench. A direction was also issued to maintain status quo. |
