JAMMU, Sept 9: 570 rural children received scholarship from Harbans Bhalla Educational Trust (HBET) during the nine days camp which concluded today where 80% are girls and are from rural areas . Children came from government schools from Akalpur, Arnia, Birpur, Bishnah, Kangrail, Marjali, Chadwal, Chakrohi, Dansal, Doomi, Goapar, Gajansoo, Ghou Manhasan, Gurah Brahmana, Gura Slathia, Hira Nagar, Jourian, Jerda, Kana Chak, R. S. Pura, Nagrota, Rattian, Ranjari, Rahein, Samba, Saruinsar, Satrayan etc. Director Nitco Logistics (P) ltd., Sudhir Nanda was the Chief Guest on the occasion. He praised the noble efforts of the trust in not only helping the cause of education but also helping society at large to empower women. The Chief Guest told the students about the benefits of education and advised them to make full use of scholarship and support of the Trust. HBET was established in 1997 with the mission to change lives of needy children through literacy support programs. The Trust supports children from weaker sections of society with renewed passion to remove ignorance and darkness from their lives by providing the light of education. |
